Last weekend, including Good Friday, are the best days of this block so far! I experienced pure euphoria but I doubt that you'll understand why....Be forewarned: Long post ahead.
Most of the people in Manipal including my batchmates were heading to Goa ( a must-see destination in Inida especially for beach goers). After a week of tests and stress, we all deserved the short-lived 3 days holiday.
I am, of course, very tempted to follow the group to Goa. There were many groups in my batch going there but due to some factors, as below, it changed my weekend from what supposed to be a boring nerd-like weekend to a really meaningful one.
I know there's really no point listing down the factors why I did not go to Goa.. but I still want to cos.. I like to!.. ahaha..and just to proved that i think a lot... of shite.
Why i did not go to Goa?
A) My "India family" members were not going. I know I will enjoy more if they are there.
B) I dont like rush holidays. I would prefer a long stretch of holidays where I can have fun, relax and time to rest. 3 days were just too short to do anything.
C) I have to inform the trip organiser my decision a day before my second anatomy class test. I HATE DETEST LOATHE anatomy test!. I like the learning process.. but i just hate the test. Just to prove how budoh I can be or I can continue being ignorant. =P My conscience says, "Thinking about holiday before test ends is just not right!"
D) I would prefer to go for holiday in a small group of close friends. I dont like going in a big group, then splitting up into smaller "sub-groups" where everyone starts doing his/her own thing.
E) Had other smaller doubts. =)
As I said, I had a class anatomy test on Thursday. The night before, Leeky and Jun (two whacky girls who I fondly call Cartoon and Clown respectively) bunked in my room. We were randomly chatting in the evening about studying all night till the test and it sounded "fun",ahem, "productive" i mean. They took their books and pillows over. Supposed to start studying at around 7pm but ..
we had this MAD idea out of a sudden to go to somewhere else, not GOA, not MANGALORE. not any places where our batchmates weregoing. Only 3 of us girls! We went online, search for details, made reservations and decided to go to MYSORE (land of chocolates.. => and beautiful "boat houses") Our initial plan was leave in the evening after our class ended, take a ride to the train station, by train to Mysore and when we reached there, probably find a local travel agency or something like that. I was worried in the beginning because i was quite reluctant to go (I've already promised "india family" for beach outing on Friday morning) and there's only 3 of us but the girls were very excited and enthusiatic bout our little adventure, and without plans made it more interesting. I spoke to my "private counselor", mr. piggy bout it and we wanted him to follow but he had committments elsewhere. Of course guys will definitely disagree with our plan but hahaha.. we dont care. After much persuasion, I also gave in (actually, they said they'll still go without me =( .. cheh) and was looking forward to the trip. Now, as I'd said, we wanted to "study" all night long.
After an hour or so, we rearranged the furnitures. Study table was beside the bed, so Leeky and I sat on the bed while Jun sat on the chair at the opposite. What supposed to be a night of serious study turned to an all girls "semi-sleeping" party. We took whacky pictures with handphones (in the loving memory of my lost camera. one minute of silence everyone! ... %^&*X#$%^), disturbed other restless anatomy ghosts and kept eating. Jun was the one proclaiming the loudest that she will NOT sleep cos she had tried studying all nite before test. I gave up at 5 am. Jun at 5.30 am. Leeky, probably 6am. They blamed me for tempting them to sleep. Cheh. I'm always the person blamed. >.<>Fishing means moving back and forth in sitting position, symptom of extreme tiredness and result in : being called by lecturers. I also had HUGE-ASS eyebags and slit eyes. -_-"
Nevertheless, it was quite fun having them around but definitely not for studies.....
Back to our adventure, it ended up cancelled cos Jun's elder sister disagreed with our rush moves and for safety reasons. So, we scraped our plan for now but we WILL definitely plan better, get more reliable slaves, ahem, i meant guys and wait for a longer break.
Like I mentioned above, I was supposed to go to the beach with my "india family" until i told Piggy i was not going. He totally scraped off the beach plan. We ended up have to plan it again and let me tell you, our family are expert in making last minute plans but it'll somehow turn out PERFECT! To accommodate everyone (piggy and jeremy had church functions), our beach trip was brought forward to the morning instead of evening. Usually, previous outings to the beach were in the evening because sunset view is much more beautiful, weather is not so hot and the night sky view is superb but heck, give morning beach a change lo. (^-^)
The night before beach outing again to Kaup beach, Thursday, 13/04/06, I did the most bravest thing ever.. Felt good. No regrets! Still feeling good cos it's good!!!.. I cant tell here of cos.!.. wanna knw? nah...
Woke up at 6am. Made sardine sandwicheS. Off to the beach. 30-45 minutes bus ride. I told the guys that I'm not swimming, although I wore my swimming suit cos I dont wanna get salty and have sand all over me. Should have kept my mouth shut cos they carried me and threw me to the sea water. Ish.... The current was strong although it's only low tide. The waves were just nice for us to swim and play.We also had sand-fight. When I said sand-fight, what i actually meant was sand-WAR. Jeremy the biggest monkey around really took the mud and threw at everyone. Everyone came back darker and nearer to becoming a 'tempe" = local people, half-dead, smelly but Happierrr..~

We did the usual bury-people-in-sand do. Lester aka Piggy was the first victim. We hypertropied (enlarged) all his external genitalia organs and gave him boobs too. =) When i said enlarged, it's really huge lor. A masterpiece. Magnifico!
Second victim was Alicia but she looked half dead in the sand cos the weather by then was really hot.
We cleaned up, packed up and started taking pictures. Poser kau kau!> I'll upload the pictures after i've compiled them from 3 different cameras. We went back around noon, ate lunch and rest the whole evening. At night went for fruit juice outing. I really enjoyed the day cos I felt everything was so slow & peaceful, so relaxed ......
Saturday!.. Another memorable day. I went to the local orphanage with Piggy, Jeremy, Sohnam, Chew Ying and batch 15 students (they organised it).
