Life so far- Happie New Year

Today is the only day i can time of my own.. to finally blog nd post up pictures after blocks exam (21/12/06).

I have been so busy with extra-curricular activities that at one point, it felt like I was in sports camp.

21st December (my 20th birthday and also the last day of blocks exam).

I really like surprises but I did not expected so many surprises at one day. Either Lester the piggy/decoy is good at organising surprise party, my friends are evil in tricking me or Amanda the blur sotong is just ..... plain blur. Throughout the day, friends have been giving hints unintentionally i.e wishing me happy birthday and the following sentence was "I thought it was a surprise what? Not that I forget" (fine eg is Susu masam)

After exam I went for body massage (due to exam-induced body ache) with Gayathri. Then at night, was supposed to go for dinner with Lester the pig. Along the way to the restaurant, he was practically psychoing me with stuff like, "which restaurant to go? i really wanna go to the other restaurant. bla bla or the about a shirt he apparently bought for me to compensate the other shirt that i didn't buy (we went shopping with Gayathri and Jeremy and I really like a shirt but did not buy cos it's way off my budget.. another story by itself)"

Then like all surprises party, all my close friends were there. Unlike last 2 yrs, my dinner decoy was Enghan and after dinner, he acted very nice and offered to he walk me back to delay time but towards the end when i suspected something and wanted to go home, he told me directly that group of people are waiting to surprise me at the fountain. Just act surprised k. Hhaha.. But this time, blur leech kena tipu =P

The downside of the day was me having bad case of migraine. Lots of self-induced vomiting something like bulimia (ya. I wish la. haahha) Thanks everyone for making my day near perfect. ^-^

Enough said, photos!

Presents! Mum sent me a tommy hilfigier blue sneakers, Jeremy gave me a necklace, the black top is given by Lester, blue dress by Alicia, hairclip by Sohnam, Bikini set by Jun and Leekie, Santa hat by Gayathri! Birthday cards! Thank you all!

Was surprised to see the shirt Piggy bought.

With jeremy and Su-Lin. Jeremy got me a necklace and this is me before changing to the shirt/top/wateva u call it.

After changing to the top in the toilet with the rest of the girls waiting outside cos all excited to see me in the top. hahaaha.and they made me wear the bikini beneath it too. Hhahah >.<

Random group picture

23rd December 2006 (Day trip to Mangalore)

2hrs drive away. Wanted to watch movie but dont' have nice movies. Wanted to cut hair but no time. Aduh!

24th December 2006 (Christmas eve and 2 days one night stay at Turtlebay resort)
Actually it was supposed to be a holiday retreat for 10 of us ended up having 26 people altogether. HAhaha. We went to a beach"resort". Departed in 5 taxis and arrived there bout 4.30pm after an hour & a half journey. Once we settled down, we played captain ball on the beach with vegetables instead of er.. ball. We had tomatoes, cabbage and orange. Hhahaa. It was a girl vs guys game and the girls lost but not without a fight. It was just too tiring to run on the beach and everyone was practically eating sand. Oh, I hurt my 2nd right toe while playing captain ball. Soft tissue injury and my toe swell like er, mini tomato!

spent a nite there, bbq-ing with bon-fire at the side. Practically had the whole beach to ourselves. Was a very peaceful nite (apart from the ruckus we made), the stars were really bright and some of the guys went for crab chasing (small city boys hahah) and caught about 10 of them but of course they released it (suprised it didn't end up in the bbq ka?) Then we girls took turn singing old boy band songs (hahaha .. bsb la, westlife la.. sentimental la.. so cacat) while the guys played guitar. Of course we sand Christmas carols also. Afterall, it was Christmas eve.

Speaking of bbq, never in my life have i cut/clean so many chickens. Gayathri and I spent almost 2 hours the night before, cutting 8 pieces of chicken to smaller pieces totaling to about 70-80 pieces of chicken. Dei, I tell you, I am officially an expert in chicken anatomy.

As the night gets colder, we proceeded into the dormitory (it was actually a yoga room-cum-chalet-hall filled with 15 mattresses) and only 1 toilet. Actually I dont mind staying in this type of "room" because we really had lots of fun sleeping under the same roof. We had gift exchange and played "Mafia" into the wee hours. We made so much laughing and quarreling (mafia is a very noisy game) even the neighbours complained even though their rooms are 50m away.

Then the next morning, woke up quite early and went to explore the beach. I spent almost an hour sleeping in the hammock by the seaside, had our breakfast and off back to Manipal.. to see a doctor. Adoi. My above-mentioned toe was supposed to be fix with a slab to stabilise it but I told the doctor I have a basketball game on the Thursday. He requested me to sign a release form and gave me another alternative remedy which is by bandaging my two toes together to stabilise it and he gave me pain killer, drugs to reduce swelling and was supposedly to review after a week. (It's already a week and I' m too darn lazy to go back though my toe still hurts when I bend it.. =) )

L-R: Leekie, Jun, Gayathri and me. They cooked tuna, minced chicken and mashed egg? for the bbq dinner. I helped a bit la. =)

In the dormitory/hall/room.

People (Wei Hao and Soh nam) hard at work bbq-ing, where as the rest, busy posing >.<
Kuok Tong a.k.a Sotong! (in white shirt) setting up the bonfire with Jeremy.

Singing gang.

Aiyak. Ter-potong 3 heads and the rest of the gang.

Bbq team! Good job guys. No tweezers/thongs? Nevermind. Can always use sticks wrapped with aluminium foil.

As the week proceed, my schedule becomes more hectic.

I have normal classes, have to juggle between basketball practices and volleyball practices and have to go for dance practices (a korean modern dance for Lagenda night).. all these while my toe hurt like mad.

Basketball match was on Thursday, Lagenda dance was on Saturday and Volleyball competion was on Sunday morning and evening AND last minute join badminton competition on following Monday. Crazzieee... But I like the excitement. O.o The adrenaline rush. The things that filled my schedule but my body aches everywhere, made me appreciate sleeping more and my eyebags were approaching the status of an actual piece of luggage (luckily it's subsiding).

Yours truly serving the ball. ^-^ Cacat one~ Got angin. Sometimes good serve. Sometimes fly sideways. Sometimes fly straight up.

Volleyball gang plus supporters la. First runner up. We'll win next year k!

Basketball team. Taken in class. Spot mwah~

Korean Doll-like modern dance. Hell lots of fun! Lots of hard work and practices but worth the pain

However, really wasted that we lost both volleyball in the finals and basketball in the semifinals. Badminton also lost in the finals but i did not expect much since I did not train/prepare for the competition. Heck, the last time i played badminton is 2-3 years ago? The thought of losing in any more games really lower my morale to an extent of having the thought of giving up sports. I know I am not that bad in sports but keep on losing is really depressing until ... I/We finally won something. =) yay! Our team managed to get First prize in MadAds (an interbatch competition with each team comprising of 6 to 8 members have to promote/advertise a product with the the product name given to each team one hour prior to the competition) Our product was a helmet. Seriously, we were like the underdogs but we excelled. We proved them wrong thanks to lots of creativity and bravery. akaakka (self-praised). Another team from my batch managed to get second prize too. Batch 17 sapu nearly all prizes that night.

Guess. thts all for now..

Happie New Year 2007 all!
