Raindrops keep falling on my head. I mean it.

It felt like a typhoon landed in Manipal today..

Monsoon season has started not too long but the effects it bring..whoossh~ I did not wanna blog about the rain initially cos I thought it'll be too boring but I just HAVE to cos believe it or not, rain is now the most exciting part of my daily routine.

Every morning at 8.10 am, the alarm (handphone) rings with the sound of the jungle (tarzan Oo-ee-oo-e-ooing), snooze automatically for 2 to 3 times before I really get up cos the weather is just so heavenly! I purposely set my alarm 20 minutes before I get my sorry ass up of the bed. Occasionally I'll rub my eyes a few times to double check the time and pray.. just PRAY that I set the alarm earlier/heard wrongly and it's actually only 6am. Hooray.. but it never happens. I'm so paranoid at times that I'll wake up at 6 am or 7am cos the morning light looks about the same during rainy season but instead of being grumpy for waking up at the wrong time, I have the very thankful feeling, so happy cos it feels as though i had stolen somemore time to sleep (get wat i mean? psycho-ing myself to appreciate my sleep la). It's so weird that just the other day I was complaining that it's so difficult to sleep at night although the fan is on full blast cos the weather was so hot but now. natural air-conditioning at its best! The only reason I attend classes is for me to have a gap period to miss my bed even more. When I wake up, I can't wait to sleep. When in class, I cant wait for it to end. Sitting at the back of the class, I can tell you, I see "zZZzZzss" in bubbles above the heads of 1/2 of the class population in the morning. The lectures in the afternoon after lunch break is the worst. More than 3/4 are victims of the dreamland but being kiasu (incl. me la =>), attendance carries marks, die die also must go to class. Looking forward to my comfy bed wherever I am. Dressed in my silky pyjamas and thick comforter and fluffy pillow, surrounded by Mr. Froggy and smelly lam-chim with scrawny bolster..ahhHh~ the simple luxury of life *oh ya, back to the the rain*

Then I proceed to the window, draw the curtains aside, open the window and smell the fresh air and appreciate my life. The End. NO, Of course! *i do! but tht's not the point here* Go to the window to check whether it rains or not la.. why? So that I can mentally and physically prepare myself to battle the freaking cold icy water to take my shower. Just because I'm living with 2 other housemates, I do not wanna scare them with my daily early morning screams in the bathroom while I bathe like how I used to scream when I was younger!.. You should see my constipated-tahan-blardy-cold look. It's really been a looooong time since I have a warm shower.

Clothed up (not dressed up since I dont see the point dressing up then battle the raging wind and rain, ended up reaching class all drenched) and donned my oversize, fugly yellow raincoat, believing that i look something like this>>>

Paddington bear/leech!

and leave for class with SkySky. The journey to class is another battle altogether.

Everytime it rains, I can't help but humming the song:-

Raindrops keep fallin' on my head
And just like the guy whose feet are too big for his bed
Nothin' seems to fit
Those raindrops are fallin' on my head, they keep fallin'

Sound nice hor? Like those movies where the actor/actress will cycle under the drizzle looking very ecstatic bout the weather in joyous mood. Too bad in my case it's not raindrops, it's tangki bocor. Countless tangki. Only similarity is it rains but the rain in Manipal does not fall on the head. They DO keep on falling. It hits you at every direction when you least expected. As someone here puts it, it's known as the "Horizontal rain".

The rain finally stops. No more weird sounds whispering in the air due to the strong gust of wind. No more tree branches flying around. No more doors banging and vibrating. This means the construction work at the bulding next to my apartment can continue their work. AIkss! I wanna sleep!

p.s: when can I go out and play? hu hu hu
p.s: more rain stories soon
