Ooty, India

4days 3nights of pure relaxation in Ooty, up in the hills of Nilgiris, fresh air, chilly wind ( a chance to wear my teeth-like jacket, you'll see! woots!) , nice weather (sunshine! )...what is missing is a nice massage..! haaha..

We were hosted by Chandan, my batchmate whose hometown is there. His mum is a Malaysian married to a local Indian businessman.
Chandan's family is quite reputable and respected there. Everywhere we went, by mentioning his family's name, we had special discounts, cheaper rates for hotel (a very cosy 3 star hotel) etc. His mum even arranged our excursion vehicle and cooked us a Malaysian meal for lunch. I sincerely felt so warmth after eating in their (Chandan's) home, touched by their gracious hospitality.

Girls with Sashi *yo! whaddup? -_-" *

Girls! L-R: Alicia, Jun, Leeky, Me

Me and Leeky. We were colour coordinated for the day..

Ancient contraption aka "TheShip". where it swings from side-to-side till it reaches, in this case, practically vertical! The younger generation of the "Ship" is found in Sunway Lagoon but this greatx10 grandpa "ship" surely knows how to scare the hell out of people, like us. There were only Lester and I at one end, and Alica and Sashi at the other end. Partly our fault for sitting at the ends when the ship is 1/8 filled??!! Imagine that there's no safety belt, no safety precautions whatsoever. Only a rail rod to hold on like our life depends on it *seriously!* In the beginning, it was really fun, we were competing screaming, laughing and all. As the ship gains momentum, we started to go higher and higher and higher till I swear I was practically standing to prevent myself from falling down. Our screams became shouts of panic for the operator to stop. Man, this can only happen in India. Smart Leeky and Jun sat out with the we-will-see-we-know-it-all face and recorded the whole incident. Utter embarrassment.

Moving on to something more subtle. Paddling two-seater boat in Ooty's lake.
Though the sun shone like there's no tomorrow but thank God for the lovely cold weather. It's something like Cameron Highlandds but colder and more Indians *hohoh* Made me wonder while uploading this picture, why I've never pay attention to this kind of landscape in Malaysia till I'm far away from home?

Obligatory camwhore picture! =)
*btw, it's not pan-cute, i memang cute.. hmmph*

Me with Lester, paddler of the day! haha

Kissing swans.

Group picture on the highest peak at Ooty.
Very chilly wind! And locals were busy taking pictures of us.. hahah.. some asked us where we're from? We answered Korea and Japan most of the time..

Pros: For self-shiok purpose or in case we do anything embarrassing, they (locals) can exclaimed," Oh, those Koreans/Japanese!!"
Cons: Unpatriotic lo..

Eating baby carrots ala Bugs Bunny!

Botanical Garden.
Really felt like we're in Europe or something. The place was beautiful and clean! Can you see me, the tree hugger?

Found the right flower to match the shade of my scarf and my purple tee!

Role reversal .. teehee ^-^

Colourful blooming flowers.. I likey..

Wanted to have my afternoon nap there...

Group picture amidst the look of others around.. Not bollywood style k! No trees, rolling or singing involve in anyway!

At the Rose Garden...

where there's different species and colours of roses.. but i prefer orchids.. haha

Ooty's evening sky at a Wildlife Sanctuary Park where we saw elephants.. I've seen more in Thailand.. But they were in different shades of grey.. prolly diff species..

2 minutes later...

We and Chandan's family.. =)
