The family followed dad to Pekan town, to meet a friend.
We stayed overnight at Suria Cherating Beach Resort, neigbouring Club Med.
Mum was like a small kid, excited to play in the water. For a person who detests being tan and protects her fairness ferociously, she was out in the sun for quite some time (:
The next morning, she contained all her excitment and stayed clear from the sun. Unless.. covered by a beach towel.
Dad was being vain bout his hair. How the wind messes his hair? and he doesn't want his photo to be taken.
Youngest bro, was busy snapping photos, of HIMSELF *vainer than me* with his DSLR. Am glad he finds a passion of somesort for photography.
Younger bro is far away in land of curry. He is greatly missed!
And me, I just enjoy the sound of the ocean, clear blue sky, cool breeze *can be a menace tho, tangles the hair*, clean beach and having happy pictures taken!
Soon.. I'll learn diving, get a license. Then I can explore the underworld instead of just snorkeling or laze by the beach ^^
Some highlights of the journey:-
--> tried the famous Kemaman Kopitiam according to Wikitravel
--> Pantai Sepat, the stretch where our hotel is located. The beach in the morning is really beautiful, as can be seen in the photos. Bro and me found that the waves break about 20ms from the shoreline and went to explore. We discovered that the sea deepens near the shoreline and becomes shallow at where the waves break. Damn cool!
By the way, mum smuggled durian into the hotel room. The good news was we changed room cos the air cond wasnt working properly. Hahaa So, new room without the mess and smell!
--> Dinner at Chukai town, at a restaurant called River Bent cos it really described the river located across the restaurant. The river bends at a 45 degrees or so. (:
--> Then visited Gua Charas. Another gem of the place and mainly popular amongst Hindus and Buddhists because the cave contains a sleeping Buddha, many statues and a mini Hindu temple. The cave literally looks like a World War 2 bunker or something like that mainly cos it's dimly lit. We actually had to climb up a few flights of stairs and descend into the cave.
Photos!
I learn that travelling without expectations can sometimes produce unexpected good outcomes. I guess it doesnt matter which country, island or planet but as long as the adventurous spirit is there!
We had a stress free trip and spent quality time together. The only stressor was the sun!
