news from india

hi peeps.. it's been a long time since i post a blog..... y today? my first block exam ( the suckiest exam i've ever had in my life.. talk bout it later!) just finished. It's definitely a time to reflect the events that had happened for the past 2 months..

Ahh i've so many things to say!! Hehheh.. Wow.. two months i've been away from home. it feels so normal for me to just go home *now home la... few weeks back still prison* (yup, the humble abode which i share with my room mate...oh gosh.. i've grow so fondly of her ^-^ ) and do everything by myself.. -independent wei =P -. I'll just summarized what happened in this 2 months plus. Seems short but there's many first for me.

When I first arrived, I've bad impression of the room and the locals here and all those negative feelings but nope.. i didn't give up and didn't thought of going back. (^_^) I'm just not use to it and it's really minor things cos I'm facing worse problem now, that is academic wise.

Now, I've made new friends.. some which are very nice, so which are ok.. some which are super kiasu.. Speaking of super kiasu.. some fine examples:-
1. the one(S) who always get the first spot during dissection and go on blocking others view *geram*
2. the ONE who read books when i'm reading the menu during lunch or dinner.
3. the ONE who said (not to me larh),

Kiasu: Aiyo, i did so badly for my test larh
Victim: Huh, how many wrongs?Kiasu: About 6 (out of 120)
Victim: so high. Then Why you worry so much?
Kiasu: I'm worrying for you.

What de!? If he said that to me, i'll bash him up man (literally la) .. i'll i'll ....boycott him (in fact i've already boycott him)

Library.
Do you know what I do for Sundays? In the library, where i eat, sleep, occasionally 'read' and shit (speaking of shitting, the restrooms/toilets here are super clean due to unlimited man power... and really.. it's much beeter thatn malaysia's). My roommate, Alicia and I are always doing things together cos we somehow always share similar thoughts. We always go to the library becasue we know that if we stay in the room, both of us will take the express train to dreamland. My theory is, if i sleep in the library, at least i wont be sleeping for so long... hehehe... but when i wake up... i start to feel all the funny sensations at the arm, forearm, leg, thigh, and toes. Library is now like my second home. In fact, i'm typing this very blog in where.. guess where?? The library!.. *Bluak.. i'm starting to get sick of it* But i can tell you the facilities here are SO much BETTER than the libraries back home (I'm comparing with the limited libraries i've visited : Shah Alam's library, Taylor's College library and long long time ago, Klang's Library). More books, better books, beetter chairs, better lightings, air-cond? Before you say unjust comparisons, of course there's many things that are incomparable between things in india and malaysia. =P Oh. Another thing I like about the library is the comfy single rounded sofas provided. Like those Ikea kind but harder la.. This is where i usually hang out when I still feel extremely sleepy after sleeping for one hour plus in the library. There's also a coffee house in the library. Something like Coffee Bean and Starbucks but this is Coffee Day. Not on par but about 70% of the western coffee houses but most importantly, I can get good cheap ice blended coffee! The first "FIRST": i drink ice blended coffee everyday! I'm so addicted to the flavour. it's not that coffee can help me to stay awake. I can drink 2 cups a day and still sleep like a regular pig but I'm trying to cut down my caffeine intak *er-hum... not good for health u know.. ahahah.. ya rite.*

Leisure time & Sports.
The only nice place in this town (not even a town larh but transition state between kampung and town) is a place call end-point. Manipal is a bit on the hill and also near the sea -30 minutes drive-.. so this place is is the best place to watch sunset and the view is magnificient as there's as river flowing towards the sea too. There's once when Alicia and me went there to release our stress (we go there and scream.. hahah), the sun beam is directly shone on the sea where the clouds block the other rays... so it's like a passage from heaven to the sea. The view is really somehting. =) But there's 2 negative sides: 1. There's cow dungs everywhere on the way to the place (cows dont climb hill.. thank god) 2. Local guys here like to hold hands and sit together!!!! Seriously!! Two guys will sit and chit-chat there. Once, my friend even caught them grabbing butts and all. Our theory is that they're practising on each other before doing it on the girls (those bachelors.. blame the hormonez). Other than jogging, second and third "FIRST": the first time i play basketball and playing it competitively. I represented my batch (batch 17) for basketball competition and we actually reached the finals! Joke of the year, man. The guys in our batch say we looked more like small kids playing rugby because we were quite lucky to compete agaisnt a batch before us, batch 17 minus 1, who are worse if not equally as "char" as us. Clearlly we are the underdogs cos we didn't practice but there's of course 2 to 3 players who actually played basketball before. And because the other batch who reached the finals, Batch 17 minus 3 are much experienced players, they totally looked down on us and the guys from the batch are total jack-asses. I will not elaborate for the fear of shoulder dislocation. What is memorable about this basketball competion is nearly my whole bathc mates came out in full force to support us, ok even the kiasu one. We also proved to batch 17 minus 1 that we are not nerds (they spread rumours that batch 17 are nerds.. always go library.. *wait, is not because of me rite?*.. bla bla.. ) and we beat them in almost every sports which leads to another "FIRST": volleyball competion. Another game where I played and represented my batch for. This time is pure skills k. *Che-wah* I'm so excited to join next year competition. Again we reached the finals, after beating batch 16 and 14 i think. This time for the competition we did practice in the midst of various class tests and exams. Frankly, I really find satisfaction in playing these two games especially when my friends cheered my name but because of this also, I falied my anatomy third test. Mwaaha.. partially la cos the lecturers wanted to pull our confidence level down since for the first and second anatomy tests, most people got very high marks. So they came out with a test where, minor things count!.. Crap man.. so thorough for wert (sign of not a very good doctor =P)

Apart form that, I've gained 2 new names! One is from a guy who calls me, Lizard derived from Lee-chen. Sakainya.. then his whole gang calls me lizard. Another also from a guy who calls me crocodile hunter because ther'es once where i wore fully brown colour.. and they realised i've many brown in colour clothes. So naturally his whole gang calls me Croc Hunter (related to steve arwin).

I also found out from my room mate that I sleep-talk and scarier, sleep-laugh. HhahahA. There's once when i sub-consiously know i'm laughing but it's really funny cos I dreamt about crappy friend, telling me a joke and I actually laugheD. My roommate was studying and she heard me laughing but she thought she heard wrongly, then she heard me shfting my body and continued laughing. She also said i've ask her anatomy questions before (By the way, for every block exam, we are interviewed by respective subject lecturers for about 15 to 20 minutes to prove that we actually know what happened, called VIVA).

Hmm.. what else.. oh ya.. the list of injuries i've obtained.. real fascinating:-

From basketball.
1. Injury to my digiti mimini (littile finger).. recovery progress.. real slow.. effects: weird abduction of the finger and fluid retention at the proximal phalanx
2. Injury to the left eye. Recovered.
3. Injury to the bum. Excitedly reaching for the ball, and fell on the side of the bum. Luckily there's more than sufficient amount of shock absorbers there. Recovered.

Volleyball.
1.Bruises to left and right forearm.. during the first few times.. subsequently immune to it. Recovered.

General: Red eyes at both eyes. Also knwon as Ju-On. Scared a few people especially my roommate. Initial problem: Contact lens but real cause is stress. Pressure to the eyES. Because of the capillaries burst at the sclera of the eye, somehow (dunno why yet) it affects my brain especially during this exam period or probably due to lack of sleep or maybe too much sleep ... hmmm...Other problems: getting way darker. there's three tones on my body!! the neck region is the darkest.. welpp!!!!! and extremely long unmaintain mane. Another incident is i accidentally hit my head on the edge of the bed after laughing tooo much. Unexpected accident .. avoidable but... haihs...

What i like bout India so far:-
1. Shopping ala Indian style. First you buy the material, then go to the tailor. Tailor made to perfection according to the styles you want! Then, buying bangles, pottus and ear rings.. cheap cheap. real cheap if convert to malaysia ringgit la.

2. Beauty parlour. Massage also real cheap. Too bad no thai style.

3.All hostel rooms, library, general bulding under the universtiy management are link by intercoms. So, I at night can kacau people.
Me: ........ *trying real hard not to laugh*
Friend: Helllo. Hello.. who's there?
mE: A ne an ne ne neh... *ended up burst out laughing*
Friend: Huh? Amanda a!!!
Me: Sir, do you want Thai massage (in weird indian tone)!

That's how i de-stress myself and re-stress others. (^_^)

4. Food. There's this restaurant here that serves good food. Taste like food back home! The boss calls me Amy (oh another name) , short for amanda.

5. Other local services are cheap Cuci kasut 20 rupees (RM2?). Cuci baju 3 rupees sehelai (RM0.30?). Naik auto (local 3 wheeler taxi.. picture thai's one but this is smaller) 10 rupees (RM1?) Hheehe.. living quite comfortable..

Okie okie. need to go. hopefully i can keep this up. take care peeps.

lots of xxxxxx
